Interior Transformation - Before & After

DMV Interior Design transformed a dark and dingy apartment into a light, bright and airy sea-side sanctuary. Situated a stone's throw away from Port Elizabeth's beachfront promenade, our client's brief involved a total re-design of her outdated living spaces.

A complete re-design was needed to transform this apartment into our client's vision. Space & light were two major issues. We removed and demolished interior walls and gutted the kitchen and bathrooms. Ultimately we maximized on the existing natural coastal light and increased the size of living spaces without building additions or extensions.

The kitchen, completely un-salvageable, was given a total facelift with new cupboards and Quartz counter tops. The existing geyser in the kitchen was proportionality too large and fitted and boxed-in the corner, taking up a huge amount of space! Luckily it needed to be replaced. We sourced a 12 Litre hydro-boil geyser and concealed the unit under the counter in close proximity to the sink plumbing. Clever little design solutions like this have a great affect on the functionality of a space.

The bathroom tiles were old and chipped and sanitary-ware were all an outdated shade of green. It felt so good to see these gutted and removed!

Ultimately, by demolishing walls, stripping the floors, gutting the kitchen and bathrooms, introducing new finishes and fittings, we successfully transformed our clients outdated apartment into a beautifully-bright, contemporary seaside home.
